Operator Overview
“Tarot cards aren’t divine, all-seeing tools. Instead, we use them for guidance when we’re lost.”
Cool as a cucumber when she reads fortunes but wild with anxiety when she hits the gambling tables, it’s Rhodes Island’s favorite soothsayer: the glorious Gitano. As an AOE Caster, Gitano is invaluable for countering large swarms of enemies and small groups of armored foes.
Gitano is always gambling with her Talent, Divination, which gives her a random buff when deployed. It’s a fun twist, but not something you can count on. Thankfully, her second Skill, Destiny, is not RNG-based at all. It amps up Gitano’s Attack power and increases her range to a scope beyond the range of any other AOE Caster. Most powerful of all, this Skill also allows her to attack all enemies within her increased range simultaneously. Be warned, however, that the Skill comes with a major drawback: when the duration expires, Gitano stops attacking altogether for an extended period of time. Used at the right moment, Destiny can win a fight, but if used carelessly, it can lose it instead.
In addition to the usual weaknesses of AOE Casters – slow attack speed and very high DP cost – Gitano has a few special weaknesses of her own. The RNG on Divination can be frustrating, and Destiny requires either good intuition or preemptive knowledge of a stage to use safely. Regardless, AOE Arts damage is often vital to have around, and Destiny is a powerful tool for the savvy player, making Gitano a worthwhile investment.

Note: This unit does not have Mastery grades. This means the unit is generally not one worth spending the resources of Mastery on. However this write-up should help with skill selection, should you want to use the unit regardless.
Like many 4★s, Gitano is not a bad unit despite lacking a Mastery grade. However, her role does not require extra investment, either. Most players won't get any value out of her beyond a mid-to-high level E1 with SL7, so extra investment is purely a luxury. If you do want to go that extra mile, S2 is the better choice. Despite its brutal SP cost, the extra range and true AoE damage is the far bigger benefit, especially in the early going when Gitano is most useful.
Base Skill Analysis
Gitano gains her second RIIC Skill at Elite 1.
Is it worth it? Probably not. Gitano does have one of the best low-rarity Clue speed bonuses (For more details see the Reception Room Guide), but clue speed increases result in such low actual return, that paying off the promotion costs could take years considering there are other very available Operators (like 12F or rope) that have clue speed buffs that don't require any investment at all. Plus, her Skill 1 buff gives +25% to Trading Post, so new players may want to use her there until they can replace her with Operators with better buffs. AoE casters as an archetype are quite weak, and the need for them falls off sharply after midgame. Therefore, though she might be a good option to develop for gameplay early because of swarm mechanics being more common (and for example, she is used in a common AnniH-3 strategy), she is not a strong long-term gameplay choice.

Gitano is a mystic from Sami, tarot expert and a great card player. She has never spoken to anyone of her past prior coming to Rhodes Island, and it remains a mystery. All anyone knows is that her readings are very accurate.

Increase Trust to 150.Unlike her relaxed composure during a reading, Gitano gets anxious easily and becomes very competitive when playing cards. She is never allowed to shuffle the deck out of fear that she'll cheat. Even then, she knows countless other card tricks, and unless she's caught red-handed, she'll never admit to cheating. Still, some people play with her because they either want to catch her in the act, or see a nervous side of her she doesn't otherwise show.
