Botzu's Quick Evaluation

+ Trait: Regular attacks deal damage twice
+ Talent: Increase ASPD every killing blow, up to cap.
+ S2: Great crowd-control: low SP cost and ability to store charges allows her to rapidly launch AOE stuns
+ Mixed damage types with Physical damage on basic attacks and Arts on skills.
+ Fast ASPD and low SP cost skills
= While often compared to Ch'en, Bibeak's strength is more in AOE crowd-control than damage
- S2: Fairly weak nuking power for an AOE burst skill
- Typical Archetypal drawbacks of low base ATK and relatively high DP costs

Operator Overview

Fashion designer Bibeak was exposed to Originium by accident when she was caught up in a factory riot, which ended her promising career long before its time. Now that she's Infected, she has few options available to her, but she’s making the best of it by joining Rhodes Island as a 5 Dualstrike Guard with quick attacks, multi-target Skills, and a killer Gothic Lolita aesthetic.

As a Dualstrike Guard, Bibeak has the Trait of dealing damage twice every time she attacks. In addition, her Talent—Soul Drinker—gives her stacks of an attack speed buff (up to a cap) every time she deals the killing blow to an enemy unit. Her Skills are perfect for getting these killing blows: her automatic Skill 1, Plumage Pins, increases the damage of her next attack and also deals Arts damage to another enemy behind the first, while her manual Skill 2, Blade Swap, deals Arts damage to multiple enemies (ground or air!) and Stuns them. The really impressive thing about both these Skills is how fast they charge. Both have the sometimes-inconsistent “Attacking Enemy” SP generation, but they also have incredibly low SP costs. Blade Swap even holds multiple charges, so you can build its SP on weak early waves and spam it later when you need it.

Bibeak suffers from the usual weaknesses of Dualstrike Guards: high DP cost, lower base ATK to compensate for hitting twice, and “Attacking Enemy” SP generation. Her lower base ATK also means she can have trouble with high-DEF enemies. However, much like she adapted to being Infected, Bibeak has adapted to her low ATK by loading her Skills with Arts damage, which allows her to tear right through high-DEF opponents. She also benefits from being an Event Operator, which makes it easier to max out her Potential buffs. Don’t let her delicate, frilly appearance fool you: Bibeak is a warrior to be respected.

Newbie Tier List Explanation

Good consistent damage output and amazing crowd control, but can be very hard to use properly

Skill Discussion

Skill
Mastery
Story
Advanced
Roguelike
S2M3 A+ S- S-

Bibeak is a powerful unit. Few can match the utility of her reliable AoE stun on a short cooldown, short activation, and stacking charges. This has been especially true in Advanced situations when combo'd with Liskarm, though there are a number of other stall alternatives these days as well. Still, she is quite powerful and her S2 Masteries are very important to that end. Story players won't find this niche to be quite as valuable as Advanced and Roguelike players will, but Story players should not underestimate her either.

Module Analysis

Operator Impact: Medium / High

Meta Use: Medium / Low

Explanation:  The majority of Bibeak's damage comes from her Skills, and although her Stun tends to get most of the attention, her DPS is no slouch, so the increased Skill damage is welcome.  The ASPD bonus is also welcome, since with on-attack Skill charging, it allows her to use her Skills more frequently.

Base Skill Analysis

Buff Explanation: Higher chance to get larger Precious Metal orders from the Trading Post.  (aka, the gold bar orders that are produced by the Trading Post are more likely to have more gold bars in them, and thus give you more LMD)

Is it worth it?  Probably not. While having more orders with more gold bars is definitely a good thing, the problem is she doesn't have an efficiency gain to go along with it.  Unfortunately, the gain she makes from larger orders is not enough to offset the loss in efficiency.

Here are numbers from this discussion:

Without Bibeak, the chances of 2/3/4 gold orders appearing is 30/50/20% respectively.

With Bibeak E0/1, the chances are 22.5/32.5/45% respectively.

With Bibeak E2, the chances are 15/15/70% respectively.

Her actual increase in productivity is about 1% only.

If you are inclined to micro-manage your base to maximize the output, what you can do is swap in Bibeak right before a Trade Order is produced, and then swap her out right after.  This can be more palatable when using drones to push out multiple orders.

From a gameplay perspective, Bibeak sees good gains from her E2, but not enough, (nor is she meta enough) to make her a high E2 priority.

Profile

Operator Bibeak, daughter of a Raythean Industrial designer, contracted Oripathy following a riot by factory workers.
She has been brought aboard Rhodes Island for medical support, but has been allowed to transfer to a combat department per her request. Her swordsmanship is as elegant and rhythmic as her work on the loom.

Clinical Analysis

Increase Trust to 25.
Imaging tests reveal blurry outlines of this operator's internal organs, clouded with abnormal dark spots. Her circulatory system shows an abnormally high rate of Originium particulate matter, with other signs of Oripathy infection, we can confirm that the Operator is Infected.

[Cell-Originium Assimilation] 6%
Originium is distributed across Operator Bibeak's trunk, but the condition has been well-treated and is under control.

[Blood Originium-Crystal Density] 0.19u/L
Despite accidental infection, Bibeak rarely comes in contact with Originium, and has been properly treated following infection. The current condition is stable with little risk of deterioration.

When Bibeak first came to Rhodes Island, her first request was whether there was a special place where she could tailor clothes and articles for work, but unfortunately, Rhodes Island has no shortage of those.
For her, sewing and weaving are ways of calming her mind. Influenced by her father's work as a designer, Bibeak's creations are both comfortable and visually striking. However, because she sometimes has difficulty deciding what to incorporate in a design, her overall style tends to be intricate and beautiful, qualities ill-suited for combat scenarios.

Bibeak seems to view designing clothing as a way of expressing her emotions. After getting to know her better, many operators have approached her with embarrassment, asking to have their measurements taken.

Born into a well-off family, Bibeak inherited the discerning eye of her father when it came to fashion design. Ever since she was a child, she showed a great interest in textiles and design. Had it not been for an unexpected incident, she was sure to follow her father's footsteps to becoming an excellent fashion designer in her own right.
Bibeak was expected to learn swordsmanship from a young age, both as a means of self-cultivation and a form of self-defense. Her elegant, almost poetic swordsmanship is not something that can be learned on the battlefield - rather, it is the product of a focus on demeanor and temperament, with only peripheral benefits when it comes to self-defense.
While many warriors will write off this kind of swordsmanship as purely ornamental, it still serves its purpose in a pinch. With a sword clasped in her hand, even the normally gentle and reserved Bibeak will, for the first time, have the courage to fight the masses whose raging emotions have been fanned into flames, and to protect herself and nearby innocents from those who have given themselves over to madness.

[Investigation Report Excerpts]
All the evidence points to Bibeak's infection as an accident. When she was walking in the streets, she just happened to get caught up in a factory worker protest. The road was quickly barricaded, and she was trapped within the crowd as the local police tried to quash the protest with tear gas. The situation escalated quickly, and some people in the crowd began to yell obscenities and incite violence. It is unclear whether this was caused by the workers or by external agitators, but the protest quickly devolved into a riot......
When we first heard the news from a messenger, we did not pay too much attention to the situation. After all, incidents like these are certainly not new for many people. Recently, unrest has been everywhere. Almost every day, Victoria has to seal off certain roads to prevent innocent people from accidentally wandering into unfortunate situations.
Bibeak, unfortunately, did get caught up in such an incident. When order broke down in the protest, she had no way of escaping, and someone struck her in the head with a chunk of Originium which resulted in her infection.

'Resentment towards the self-destructive is an emotion that everyone harbors, and there is no need to be ashamed of that.'
'However, if you are always filled with this kind of resentment and let it dominate you, you will find reality utterly unacceptable merely by thinking about it.'

This change in her mental state was one of the few times Bibeak voiced her inner emotions.
Try to step out from the confines of your room, and from your comfort zone. Try to make contact with others, and to blaze new trails on the battlefield with your blade. Bibeak has tried to follow this advice to the best of her abilities, trying to come to terms with her new identity and the life that comes with it.
When she made the decision to directly confront the things that changed her life forever, the thin blade in her hand always gave her courage.

Promotion Record

Upgrade to Elite LV2.
At first, she only made clothes for the non-Infected Operators, but recently, she has begun to specifically look for Infected members to take measurements. What can we make of this? Perhaps now that she has stopped choosing her clients, she understands that everyone eats and wears clothing, going through life all the same. Does one's infection status change that at all?
Furthermore, I don't think she's the timid type at all. She even dared to design a frilly miniskirt for Dr. Kal'tsit. What could be more brave than that? Give me an extra gall bladder and I still wouldn't be able to pull off something like that!

Appointed as Assistant I don't need to go outside today? Th-thank goodness... Infected people like me have no right to wear these clothes. How strange it is that I cannot wear the clothes I make with my own hands... Eh? Rhodes Island doesn't care about stuff like that? Really?
Talk 1 Oh, my outfit? Um, I designed this one myself. The skirt incorporates some traditional motifs, though it can't compete with my dad's work... But this is my attempt at emulating an old-fashioned style.
Talk 2 Good afternoon, Doctor. I'm trying to clean up my room... Sorry, my room often ends up being a mess... I used to never have to organize my room, and now that I'm starting to learn, it's actually rather fun... although I often break things in the process...
Talk 3 I've always had trouble adjusting after being pulled away from my old life. In the very beginning, I felt like I couldn't continue living after becoming an Infected, and I was just so scared... But I'm not like that anymore. There's so much I want to learn, and I want to do more for those just like me here at Rhodes Island.
Talk after Promotion 1 Since I was young, my father required me to study swordsmanship. I didn't like it back then, but... after that incident, sometimes holding the sword has been more reassuring than holding the spinning thread.
Talk after Promotion 2 I used to be afraid to go outside. As an Infected, I felt like everything was scorning me... But now I understand that one's self-esteem has nothing to do with whether or not she is Infected or not. After all, that is the most beautiful decoration.
Talk after Trust Increase 1 Doctor, um... If, if it's possible, can I make some clothes for you...? I think you'd be just right for bringing out some of my ideas. Um, I sometimes ask the other Operators in the same way...
Talk after Trust Increase 2 The people who stoned me with Originium... Of course I hated them, but now... If I continued to harbor that contempt and despair, it would have driven me to do terrible things. I have no regrets about running away from home, even if it holds many warm memories of my past.
Talk after Trust Increase 3 I want to incorporate the many things I've learned from everyone into something we can all wear...Hehe, even with that in mind, the elements are a bit complicated. But this reflects my emotions, whether I'm brandishing my sword or flourishing my needle.
Idle Let's use this time to craft something small.
Onboard H-hello, Doctor... My codename is Bibeak... Excuse me, but is there a facility with a loom and a knitting machine here?
Watching Battle Record The way they fight... I've never even thought about that before...
Promotion 1 A p-promotion? Are you sure? I'm actually not very good at fighting... Thank you.
Promotion 2 By my side... are all the Operators of Rhodes Island, and you, Doctor. Even with my limited life, I'm still able to live normally like a normal person... No, a life they never would be able to dream is possible.
Added to Squad G-got it!
Appointed as Squad Leader Hm? I'm the leader?
Depart Just like a textile, there is only one way to weave.
Begin Operation Is fighting unavoidable after all...?
Selecting Operator 1 Ah, understood!
Selecting Operator 2 I've finished the combat uniforms!
Deployment 1 Is wielding the sword the same as wielding the needle?
Deployment 2 I... can also fight! Believe in me!
In Battle 1 I, I won't hold back!
In Battle 2 If you have anything to say, save it for after the battle! There are people I must protect!
In Battle 3 Like threading a needle... Strike!
In Battle 4 Can the strings of life also be cut?
4-star Result Great work, Doctor! Um, what did you think about my performance?
3-star Result It, it's finally over! If your uniform is damaged, I can help repair it...
Sub 3-star Result Oh, someone got away... But, that's a better outcome... than the cruelty of death.
Operation Failure I, I'm still... so useless...
Assigned to Facility Hmm... Where is the textiles room?
Tap Yah!
Trust Tap Oh, Doctor, can you help grab those textiles for me?
Title Arknights.
Greeting H-hello, Doctor.
