Operator Overview

"If anything breaks, I can just make another one!"

Busy-body inventor and one-person army, Mayer is a Summoner Supporter Operator who can stall enemies and provide large amounts of on-demand Arts damage nearly anywhere on the map.

Mayer’s playstyle revolves around her unique trait, which allows the placement of ‘Robotters’, which she calls her Meeboos. Robotters act like melee Operators, can block 1 enemy, have decent HP, and decrease the ASPD of enemies that engage them. Robotters count toward the Deploy Limit, and are restricted in the number that can be deployed, which increases as Mayer receives Elite promotions. 

Mayer’s first Skill, Bionic Device, passively increases the Physical and Arts dodge chance of deployed Robotters. Although heavy investment into Bionic Device allows Meeboos to extend this buff to nearby allies, and can be stacked with other dodge buffs, this Skill is primarily a stalling tool. It is Mayer’s second Skill, Detonate and Recycle, that is the game-changer. Detonate and Recycle self-destructs all deployed Robotters and deals massive AoE Arts damage, briefly stuns surviving enemies, and ‘recycles’ all detonated Robotters. This allows them to function not only as strategic low-cost blockers, but also as nuclear Arts bombs that can bring pinpoint mass destruction to almost anywhere on the map.The recycling functionality enables rapid redeployment for quick alteration or reconstruction of defensive lines.

By design, Mayer as a standalone Operator is underwhelming due to her very low stats. However, with skillful utilization and placement of each Robotter, Mayer can be a one-woman wrecking crew and even single-handedly clear missions. Learning and experimenting with Mayer’s capabilities will be well worth the time spent with this uniquely versatile Operator.

Newbie Tier List Explanation

Strong, but cycling her Meeboos properly can be tricky. If you screw up her Skill timing, she probably just lost you the map.

Elite Promotion Discussion

Another Operator whose Talent is core to their mechanics. The number of Meebos that her talent Robotter allows to be deployed increases from 4 to 5, a significant increase if you want to use this one-woman-army to her fullest potential.

Summoners tend to be a love 'em or hate 'em group, with most people falling into the latter. I really wouldn't suggest pursuing Mayer too hard unless you specifically wanted to do Supporter or Summoner specific clears. A majority of people will just find Mayer too tough to use for the reward she gives. And even if you did want to dabble with Summoners, Scene is the better starting point.

So that said, if you did want to use Mayer, her S2 Masteries are fairly important. Mastery gives her a much longer stun, better cycle time (very important), and a big boost on damage. Her S1 is used far less, but it has a really interesting breakpoint at M1 which can give her a bit of team support, though Mastery beyond that initial breakpoint isn't recommended.

All of that said, Mayer gains a lot of value with IS#3. Her remotely activated stuns are very valuable against one of the biggest threats, so she becomes more appealing than Scene despite being more difficult to play. However, keep in mind that her main value is in the stun, so extra investment over E1 and SL7 may not be particularly valuable unless you are using her as a starter.

Explanation: If Mayer or Scene are being used in normal content, it is typically being done without expecting or needing them to be deployed along with a full team.  Either they are being used to cheaply deploy multiple units early that will eventually be replaced by full Operators; their supply of replenishable deployables are being utilized; or they are being used to clear with fewer Operators in the squad.  In these situations, the extra unit slot gained when their summons are deployed won't usually make much difference.  

That being said, if you want to use them along with full teams or want to play Summoner-only runs, this Module will help make things easier/ more viable.

Base Skill Analysis

Mayer gains her second RIIC Skill at E2.

If you are planning on using this niche Operator at her full potential, then you will need to E2 her eventually.  The Skill she gains is one of the best non-specialized buff for the Factory. Since Factory buffs are always in demand, it will be a nice addition.

Mayer was born in Columbia and was a member of the Rhine Lab Research Lab. She is the inventor of the 'Meeboo' wire control system. She is outstandingly capable and runs her own workshop called 'Lutra.' She is currently working with Rhodes Islands to provide assistance with construction, planning, and development.

Mayer frequently encountered Silence at Rhine headquarters since she was responsible for preparing, installing, and commissioning experimental devices for her. This was up until Silence abruptly disappeared which in turn caused this project to be terminated. Mayer often feels a sense of regret when reminded of this instance but had she known the true goal of the project, she would have pulled the plug herself.

Mayer possesses just the right mixture of a scientist's meticulous thinking and an engineer's hands-on mentality. If there's any downside to this, it's that she never has enough time. If you don't believe it, take a look in her personal dictionary. The word 'idle' is missing.

Mayer's head contains a multitude of, shall we say, volatile ideas, which makes it no surprise when she creates something eccentric. Out of her countless inventions, her prized and most cherished 'masterpiece' is 'Meeboo.' Mayer diligently creates nameplates for each individual 'Meeboo' and carefully cleans up its wreckage after it's served its purpose. It is clear that she pours her heart and soul into the maintenance and operation of each Meeboo, despite their mechanical origins.

Since Meeboos take up so much space, Mayer's workshop is extremely cramped, causing her to devise ways to expand it. Despite having a room twice as large as anyone else's, she has managed to run out of space after increasing Meeboo production. Mayer has begged the Doctor to increase her room's size. That request was denied by the logistics department out of fairness towards others. Despite this ban on room expansion, the Doctor nonetheless granted her extra space in the hangar to allow her to continue the production of her Meeboos.

So far, a total of 80 Meeboos have been constructed by Mayer. 20 of them are serving in Mayer's squad, while the others have been disassembled for various reasons. All available components have been installed on these models in service and are uniquely named by Mayer on their respective nameplates. Of the 20 Meeboos in service, there remains a single one with an unknown serial number that Mayer uses both as a mobile workbench and an experimental prototype. Despite its advanced functions, it is unarmed and useless for combat.
